Gerard Pique - Barcelona
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique revealed that his club was always confident of getting a good result against Real Madrid in Saturday's Clasico.
The Blancos were tipped as favorites for the contest as they were three points clear at the top of the Liga table and were coming off 15 straight victories in all competitions, but they fell 3-1 against a dominant Barca side.
"We knew we could win at the Bernabeu," he said during a press conference on Tuesday. "That feeling was seen on the field. Now we have to continue along this path. We knew the importance of winning there and that is why we managed this result."
The 24-year-old then played down the incident with Marcelo, who refused to shake hands with him after the match.
"That is something that stayed on the field, it happened in the spur of the moment and that is it," Pique added.
