Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has described Pep Guardiola as the best coach in the club's 112 year history.

Guardiola has achieved unprecedented levels of success during his time on the bench, most recently leading the club to a league and Champions League double.

However, the Spaniard has caused concern among club chiefs after evading questions over his future on Friday.

Rosell is trying to freshen the air at Camp Nou with some high praise as he backs the Spaniard for a long-term future.

"Guardiola is the best coach in the club's history," Rosell is quoted as saying on Sport.es. "I hope it will be not my task to replace him. I hope he can continue listening to his heart for many years to come."

Barcelona meets Real Sociedad on Saturday in La Liga before it welcomes AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.
