Barcelona defender Daniel Alves congratulates Real Madrid on winning the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening, but is quick to add that the Catalan squad will recover.
The defending Spanish champions lost the final 1-0 after extra-time in Valencia to relinquish their hopes of winning the treble this season.
However, Alves believes that Barcelona, who are eight points clear at the top of the table in the Primera Division, will bounce back.
“They took the opportunity they had in extra-time and took the trophy,” said the Brazilian right-back, according to Spanish daily AS. “We are going with our heads held high because we have done a great job.
“We must accept defeat, just because they have scored one more goal than us. You have to congratulate Real Madrid but now we have to try and change things in the Champions League.”
Barceona will take on Madrid in the semi-finals of Europe’s premier club competition with the first-leg to be held at the Bernabeu next week.
