Following his side's 3-0 defeat to Barcelona, in which Lionel Messi scored all three goals, Atletico Madrid coach Quique Sanchez Flores heaped praise on the little Argentine, comparing him to Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano. He also admitted that Barcelona were the better side in the match.
"Messi is the best player I've seen, the Di Stefano of the 21st century," said Flores. "It was the universal Barcelona, number one, a great team. They have the ability to hypnotize an opponent."
Atletico goalkeeper David De Gea also had his say on the match, maintaining that his club were simply outclassed by a better team.
"We had no choice, the club has struggled and there is nothing to say about it," the keeper insisted. "It's difficult to win in the Nou Camp, and to beat Barcelona. The situation is complicated and you just have to get on with it."
