Barcelona coach Pep Guadiola stressed that his team need to learn how to close out matches, after they stumbled to a 1-1 home draw with Mallorca at the Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana were completely dominant in the first half, forcing visiting goalkeeper Dudu Aouate into a number of excellent saves, before Lionel Messi deservedly gave them the lead.
However, Emilio Nsue’s stunning header before half-time levelled the scores, and the Islanders held out for the most unlikely of points.
Speaking to journalists after the match, Guardiola said, “Today we have no excuse. We should have closed out this game, and we have dropped two points. We create chances in every match, and we need to start realising them.
“This year, there will be no way we will reach 99 points. The number we added last year is very difficult to get, and I do not think we will get that amount again.”
Barcelona face a trip to the Mestalla to face league leaders Valencia after the international break.
