New summer signing Sami Khedira has passed his medical test and is now ready to play for Real Madrid, the Spanish giants announced in a club statement today.

The 23-year-old Germany international was signed by the nine-time European champions this week from German side VfB Stuttgart for €14 million. Khedira underwent a medical fitness test earlier on Saturday and has now been passed fit.

Khedira arrived at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital at 13:05 CET where Dr. Carlos Diez and his team tested the German's blood and urine samples and also performed EKG, ECHO and MRI scans. They also took X-rays and performed a complete study of his locomotor and cardio-respiratory systems.

Dr. Diez later confirmed that the 23-year-old is now ready to play for Madrid. He is quoted by RealMadrid.com as saying, "The player is in perfect health. All the tests we performed confirmed that he is great shape and quite the athlete. He is eager to fulfil his dream of playing for Real Madrid."
