Deportivo Coach Lotina: Lionel Messi Is The Best I've Ever Seen
Depor coach says Leo is faster and more skillful than the past master.
By Paul Madden
Deportivo La Coruna coach Miguel Angel Lotina has declared that Barcelona striker Lionel Messi is the most complete player he has ever seen and better than Diego Maradona.
Messi's recent exploits for the Blaugrana, which have included an incredible 11 goals in his last five outings, has seen the 22-year-old Argentinian draw praise from several quarters in Spanish football and the Depor coach is the latest to laud the talent of the superstar from Rosario.
"For a long time, for many years I have been saying that he [Messi] is the best I've ever seen. For me he is the most complete player I have ever seen and he is better than Maradona," Lotina told a press conference.
"Maradona was probably equal to him from the dead ball but in other things Messi is much better, much faster and much more skillful. He is far better with the utmost respect to other players."
