Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has revealed his squad list of face Sporting Gijon this weekend, and there's a host of big names that will miss out the vital clash.

According to Real Madrid's official website, Pellegrini has selected 17 men from the first team and one youth player ahead of tomorrow's game.

The biggest news is the omission of Kaka, who has been left out of the squad ever since Real Madrid exited the Champions League at the hands of Lyon last week. Los Blancos' medical provider Sanitas report that the Brazilian has a contracture on the left hamstring muscle and is unable to feature.

Also left out of the squad is Karim Benzema, who has been suffering from a sports hernia for almost a month now. While the French striker is fully recovered, the medical team have assessed his situation and believe he is not fit enough to play just yet.

Also on the list of absentees are Royston Drenthe and Mahamadou Diarra, both of whom have trained in the gym this past week dealing with respective injuries.

Youth team player Marcos Alonso, who has been training with the first team these past two weeks, has again been called up.

Real Madrid will get together at the Santiago Bernabeu at 18:00 this evening to put some finishing touches and have a team talk. Tomorrow's game kicks off at 20:00 CET.
