Bayern Munich Coach Louis Van Gaal: Florentino Perez Never Learned From His Mistakes
Van Gaal expected early Champions League exit…
By Rupert Fryer
Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has accused Real Madrid president Florentino Perez of not learning from his mistakes following los Blancos' Champions League exit at the hands of Lyon this week.
"Perez has learned nothing from past mistakes. Instead of gambling with money, Real should have their own philosophy,” he told Marca.
The former Barcelona coach went on to say that he wasn’t surprised by Real Madrid’s defeat and that money couldn’t buy success.
"I had already predicted that Real would be eliminated. A team cannot be built from scratch by a lot of money spent to bring in the best."
Finally, the coach suggested that Real need some stability and that a successful club must have the right blend from top to bottom.
"It's essential to have chemistry between the team and coach, and he in turn must be supported by their leaders."
