thumbnail Hello,

Barca will appeal the ruling.

Despite objections from Barcelona about the validity of referee Clos Gomez's expulsions of both Pep Guardiola and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Blaugrana's last Liga fixture at Almeria, the Spanish Competition Committee has confirmed that the coach and striker will have to serve out a one-match ban and will miss the club's next match against Valencia at the Camp Nou.

However, as reported by Sport, Barcelona will appeal the Committee's ruling and submit a formal case to the Appeals Committee with the hope of having the sanction revoked.

At least in the case of Ibrahimovic, replays seem to support Barca's opinion that contact with the Almeria player was incidental and that there was no aggression on the part of the Swedish striker.
