Sevilla's Jesus Navas On Spain Call-Up: Being Here Is The Greatest
Jesus Navas could end up with a permanent spot in La Furia Roja.
By Cyrus C. Malek
Currently making headlines in Spanish football, Sevilla's Jesus Navas gave a press conference after arriving to train with the Spanish national squad as La Roja prepare to take on France in one of their final matches before this summer's World Cup.
As reported by Marca, the mercurial Sevilla winger is "very happy to be here" and said that "being with La Seleccion is the greatest one could achieve individually". However, Navas did not want to assume a place in the final squad, recognising that there is "still much work to be done".
Asked about his future, Navas did not want to comment explicitly on Real Madrid's apparent interest in signing him. However, the youngster did thank Blancos defender Sergio Ramos for his kind words. "We [Sergio Ramos and I] are friends and I am happy to hear that he would prefer me before [Franck] Ribery."
