Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain: It Would Be A Dream To Retire Here
Pipita is living his dream at Real Madrid and hopes to stay at the Spanish capital for life.

Giving a press conference today on the same day that media reports have broken that Real Madrid want to tie Gonzalo Higuain to the Bernabeu until 2010, El Pipita expressed his desire to stay at the Spanish club for many years.
"I am very happy and I want to continue here for many years, but this is an issue best addressed by my agent [the player's father]. Right now I am concentrated on our matches," said Higuain in comments reported by Marca.
Asked whether he would want to retire at Madrid, Higuain confirmed that it would be "a dream to be here for a long time". As for the contract extension, Higuain emphasised that it would be "earned on the pitch by scoring goals".
"Three years have passed since I arrived here and every year I am better than before. That is thanks to the confidence one has and obviously playing a lot of matches helps one improve. Every time I play I feel better."
Commenting on the close race between Madrid and Barcelona, the striker was optimistic about Los Blancos' chances. "I do not believe Barcelona will win all their matches until the end of the season. When they do lose, we can situate ourselves within two points and they have to come to the Bernabeu."
Finally, Higuain rubbished claims of a rivalry between he and Benzema for the starting striker position.
"There is no problem with Benzema. He and I get along very well, and this competition between us is an invention of the press." The media speculation has been put to rest at least for another week as with Higuain's return to action from injury, Benzema has been hit by a knock that will rule him out of this weekend's match against Xerez and likely the Champions League fixture against his former team, Olympique de Lyon.
