Real Madrid’s Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy has snubbed numerous offers from English Premier League clubs and agreed to join Bundesliga outfit Hamburg, according to reports in Germany.

Stoke City, Tottenham and West Ham are said to have offered the former Manchester United man a route back to the Premier League but the 33-year-old opted for a move to Germany instead.

Spanish daily Marca report that Hamburg officials arrived in Madrid today to conduct the player’s medical, which was concluded late this afternoon, in a Spanish medical centre.

There has been no official word from Hamburg as yet, but reports suggest there were no problems and the deal could be finalised as early as tomorrow morning.

Van Nistelrooy, who joined Real for a fee of around €24 million in 2006 after falling out with Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, has played just 13 minutes of La Liga football this season.
