Poll Results: Barcelona Currently The Best Club In The World
Barca Are Best, says the recent Goal.com poll.
Sunday, Barcelona wrapped up the Club World Cup trophy, making it the sixth cup the Catalans have won in 2009. In coach Pep Guardiola's rookie season in charge, the club ended up victorious in every single competition it entered.
That 2-1 extra time win over Estudiantes prompted nearly three quarters of those who voted in Goal.com's poll to declare Barcelona the best club in the world at the moment.
It's difficult to see how Barcelona, let alone any other team, could ever better the Catalans' accomplishments. The reigning La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Copa del Rey, Club World Cup, Super Cup, and Supercopa champions also boast the FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or winner in Lionel Messi. The explosive Argentine is one of 10 players on Barca's first team to come through La Masia, Barcelona's youth team.
As the calender spills over into 2010, if you can think of a better club in 2009, let Goal.com know in the comments section below. And as always, make sure to take part in Goal.com's poll every week.
