Milan ace Alexandre Pato has revealed he dreams of following in the footsteps of Barcelona magician Lionel Messi and winning the Ballon d'Or.
The Brazilian was presented with the Golden Boy award at the weekend. The international prize is awarded by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport, and given to the best under-21 player of the year. Pato finished ahead of Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic.
Pato hopes he can go on to conquer the prestigious Ballon d'Or from France Football.
"I am very happy and proud to have won the Golden Boy award," Pato told Tuttosport.
"I have seen previous winners and Messi was able to win the trophy from France Football.
"I hope winning the Golden Boy is a good omen for me as every player dreams of winning the Ballon d'Or."
As well as Messi, previous winners of the Golden Boy include Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Anderson of Manchester United.
