Barcelona won the derby and their coach wants them to win their next game.

Pep Guardiola was delighted to have beaten Real Madrid in the derby on Sunday evening but immediately looked to Barcelona's next game midweek.

The Blaugrana boss was pragmatic when asked about how pleased he was to have won the showpiece match against the Catalan club's arch rivals and already his mind on the visit of Xerez.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the only goal of the game after coming off the bench and it was enough to put Barca back to the top of the league and earn the bragging rights.

"We won one game and that is it," he told the media after the game. "We have another test coming up immediately.

"Our ambition is to be champions and we want to win again on Wednesday."

Guardiola admitted that Madrid were impressive and asked his side some questions, but felt that Barcelona did enough in the game that saw Sergio Busquets and Lassana Diarra sent off.

"We were very strong mentally," he continued. "We showed enough character to win at home. Madrid are a very good team, there is no doubt about that.

"They had their chances and they made life difficult but we tried to maintain possession.

"I expected Madrid to be aggressive early on. They are gelling together now and I think that they played well.

"Sometimes you play better and you win sometimes you do not but you still win. With ten men we pressured and attacked and had a few chances."
