Puyol: Barcelona And Real Madrid Evenly Balanced For El Clasico
Puyol thinks Madrid are top of the table for a reason.
Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has declared that he feels Sunday's Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou will be an evenly matched contest and also felt that his side are full of confidence after the midweek win over Inter.
"A match against Real Madrid is always very attractive. I want to win and it comes at a good moment for us because the victory against Inter has given us greater confidence and morale. Both teams have pressure and I see it as 50-50," Puyol told a press conference.
The veteran defender also acknowledged that Real are top of the Primera Liga table for a reason and added that his team must look to impose their game against Los Merengues.
"Real Madrid are leading for a reason. They are winning almost all their games. The most important thing is that we have the ball, go out and try to play our type of football and win," he stated.
Puyol also said that a repeat of their 6-2 win at the Bernabeu last season is highly unlikely as these results occur "very rarely".
