Barcelona midfield playmaker Xavi has declared that he would love play alongside Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas at Barca.

In an interview with Don Balon the 29-year-old midfielder acknowledged that Cesc would be a great successor to him in the center of the Blaugrana midfield but also said that he would like to partner Fabregas in the middle of the park.

"I wish he [Fabregas] was my successor and a team-mate. The more players that come and be associated with me, the better. Good players have to be understood in the field," Xavi declared.

"If Cesc comes it will be good. I would like it, because I would enjoy playing alongside him. He is very good and also has the DNA of Barca. He is able to make the final pass in attack."

The Barca midfielder also said that reaching 100 caps with Spain would be a privilege. Xavi currently sits on 81 caps and knows that reaching the ton depends on his physical well-being.

"Speaking with [Carles] Puyol we said it would be very nice to arrive at this figure and even pass it, but it depends a bit on the body. If we feel up to it, it would be trained to be a privilege, really," he added.
