Sevilla Star Jesus Navas Nears Spain Call-Up
The winger has met with Fernando Hierro to discuss his ability to participate in the squad.
Sevilla winger Jesus Navas has declared himself ready to commit to Spain following a meeting with the national team's assistant coach Fernando Hierro.
Until now, anxiety problems on long trips away from home have been a major concern for the 23-year-old winger and with the fine form he is displaying of late, appear the only obstacle to his involvement with La Furia Roja as the race for places in Vicente Del Bosque's World Cup final squad intensifies.
"It is true that I have met with Hierro. We have exchanged views and we agreed that I should take my time and when the time comes, we will see what happens," Navas according to AS.
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido also believes that the day is drawing nearer when Navas can travel with the national team.
"He [Navas] will have to decide [whether to make himself available], but must take the appropriate steps to attend the selection. He is our primary concern and we are in the final stretch to facilitating his inclusion [in the squad]," del Nido said.
