Villa Trains Briefly With Valencia Ahead Of Barca Match
El Guaje continues his race against the clock to be fit for Saturday.
David Villa is getting closer to being available for Valencia's crunch clash with Primera Division leaders and reigning champions Barcelona, after training briefly with his team-mates on Thursday.
El Guaje took part in ball drills for the first time during a morning session, before later having a brief involvement in a team session, as his intensive recovery remains on course for his participation in Saturday's game.
Villa was injured in Valencia' last league fixture, a 1-0 win away to Racing Santander on October 4, and was expected to be ruled out for three weeks, but he has spent the duration of the international break working towards being fit for this game, which comes just 13 days after he got injured..
His participation is not likely to be confirmed until the last possible minute, but the inclusion of the league's top scorer in his matchday squad would be a welcome boost to coach Unai Emery, who is already without the services of Carlos Marchena.
