He says he is surprised by the players' level of motivation.

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has insisted that his side will concentrate solely on the task at hand against Almeria tonight and said that any advantage gained over rivals Real Madrid this weekend would be "useless".

While the Blaugrana play Almeria at home tonight, Madrid face a tough trip to third-placed Sevilla and Barca could head into the international break with a lead in the league race for the first time this season, but Guardiola is playing down the significance of such a possibility.

"If they lost and we won we got gain a useless advantage an maybe Madrid or Sevilla will be ahead of us. There are many points at stake and we just need to think about doing things right. that's the only way we will be up there," he said in an interview with AS.

The Blaugrana coach is confident that he will not have to remind his players of the need for focus, as they already demand the best from themselves.

"The group is motivated. They surprise me, I thought I would need to say more but they have a geat ability to go for it in every game," he added.
