Report: Xabi Alonso To Train After Passing Real Madrid Medical
Real Madrid's players are set to meet the latest signing after he passed a medical.
Xabi Alonso is set to train with his new Real Madrid team-mates after easing through a club medical on Wednesday morning that saw him complete his move from Liverpool, according to a report.
The Spanish international midfielder has completed the transfer that he publicly stated he wanted, and has been hailed as the last piece in Los Merengues' jigsaw.
After jetting into the Spanish capital, Alonso proceeded from Barajas airport to the Clinica de La Moraleja to undergo a series of medical exams to prove his fitness, Marca state.
Having sailed through the tests without any problems, Madrid's latest summer recruit was preparing to travel out to the Valdebebas training complex.
There he will meet up with his new team-mates, several of whom he already knows from the Spain squad, and will be put through his paces for the first time by coach Manuel Pellegrini.
Alonso will be part of the Madrid squad that will fly to Vancouver where they begin a short tour that sees them take on Toronto and DC United.
