Sergi Busquets Would Welcome Liverpool's Mascherano At Barcelona

The midfielder isn't worried about the competition for his place in the heart of the Blaugrana midfield.

Barcelona star Sergi Busquets has revealed that he is unperturbed by the rumors surrounding the possible move to the Camp Nou of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

The skipper of the Argentina national team has been heavily linked with a switch to Catalunya but Busquets refuses to see his potential arrival as a threat to his place in the side, preferring to see it as bringing yet more strength to the Champions League winners' squad.

"No, the more players that come the better, and they will be welcomed," the 20-year-old told FIFA.com.

"He is a magnificent player and hopefully he can be added. The most important thing is that the signings will add to the squad."

And the Spain international thinks that he and Mascherano have different attributes anyway and this will add a greater range of options to those available to Barca coach Pep Guardiola.

"He is also a defensive player, but perhaps he moves around a lot more, conducting play, and I maintain my position more and play the ball quicker," he concluded.
