Raul Albiol: I Will Help Real Madrid To Win Titles
The defender was described as Florentino Perez as one of the best in Spain.
It might not have been as glamorous a presentation as Kaka's, but Raul Albiol's first time in a Real Madrid shirt this evening was still attended by over 9,000 fans.
Yet again the Bernabeu opened the doors to the supporters and they flocked in their numbers to see the first defensive signing of the summer for their club.
Florentino Perez started the show again as he read out a few words about Albiol, describing him as "one of the best defenders" in Spain before welcoming him to the club.
Albiol himself looked relaxed as he spoke to legendary Madrid player Alfredo di Stefano in the background, smiling as the fans began to chant his name when he walked to the microphone.
"I am very pleased to be here, I want to thank the president, the club and the fans for their effort. I am going to give my best to return the confidence shown in me and I will help the team to win titles. Hala Madrid!" were his first words to the crowd.
As he waved to the fans and walked around the stadium briefly in his number 18 shirt, he was also asked by the supporters to kiss the badge, which he eventually did at the third time of asking.
