Report: Quique Flores Close To Benfica Exit
The coach will reportedly move on at the end of the current campaign.
Quique Flores was named as coach of Benfica a year ago, but failed to secure
qualification for the Champions League, the club's primary goal, in his
first season in charge.
According to the latest reports in Portugal, O Glorioso are already in the market for a new coach and will give Flores his marching orders at the end of the season.
The main question, though, is whether Flores will part company with Benfica on good terms or if the club will have to spend a stunning €3.5 million in compensation.
And because of that, Benfica are waiting to see if any Spanish club approaches Flores, with fresh speculation suggesting that Real Betis and Atletico Madrid are interested in his services.
Meanwhile, Correio da Manha has reported that Benfica have offered Sporting de Braga coach Jorge Jesus a two-year contract to take over at the Estadio da Luz.
