Zidane: Perez Will Take Real Madrid Back To The Top

The legendary Zizou has given his strongest indication yet that he will return to the Santiago Bernabeu should Florentino return to power at the ‘White House’.

Former Real Madrid playmaker, Zinedine Zidane, has come out once again to voice his full support for the club’s potential incoming president, Florentino Perez.

The French World Cup winner has always confessed his admiration for the construction mogul and they have both maintained a close relationship ever since they left the club. And now, Zidane has not only backed the ex-supremo to guide Los Blancos back to the pinnacle of world football, but he has personally admitted that he could make a long-awaited comeback.

“Florentino will pull something special out of the hat if he runs for the elections,” Zizou told his close friend, Christophe Dugarry on Canal Plus.

Madrid need a charismatic president, someone who has a lot of desire to put the club back on top,” he added.

The 36-year-old then went on highlight Perez’s pulling power and resolve as his two best qualities.

“When I signed my contract with Madrid, I told him that the offer he made for me (€66 million) was too much. But it wasn’t too much for him. He replied, ‘If I had to put more money on the table, I would have done it without any hesitation.’

“That is his policy. When Florentino wants something, he gets it. Later on after I scored my goal in the 2002 Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen, he said to me, ‘With a goal like that, I have already recouped my expenses.’,” he disclosed.

Regarding his possible return to the offices of the Bernabeu, Zizou revealed, “I feel like I’m ready to return to football. I’ve kept a very close link with Florentino and there’s a strong possibility that he will return.

“And yes, I would be delighted if he asked me to be his adviser.”
