Barcelona Sporting Director: Messi, Henry Stay
According to Txiki Begiristain, Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry will definitely not be leaving the Camp Nou, despite the interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively...
Barcelona's sporting director Txiki Begiristain has re-iterated that there is no chance of Lionel Messi leaving the Camp Nou for eternal rivals Real Madrid.
Following the resignation of Ramon Calderon, speculation about whom presidential hopeful Florentino Pérez will promise to sign has been rife, and no rumour has attracted more attention than the speculation that the ex-Madrid supremo will look to reach an agreement with Messi. Begiristain, however, is having none of it.
Speaking to reporters after Barcelona's 4-1 win over Numancia, Begiristain said "We have already forgotten about this rumor, we are not going to keep talking about this."
"We are starting," he continued,"to become fed up with these questions. Messi will not be leaving."
Finally, he commented on another rumour, linking Thierry Henry to Manchester City, stating "We have already made it clear that there will be no transfer activity during this window."
