Mijatovic: Real Madrid Are Recovering Nicely
Los Blancos' sports director is pleased that his side have finally turned the corner after a traumatic few months.
Real Madrid have made a stunning return to form ever since sporting director Predrag Mijatovic made the very ruthless decision to dismiss Bernd Schuster and appoint Juande Ramos as their new coach in early December.
Last night, Los Blancos recorded their most impressive league win to date in the Juande-era when they brushed aside
“The team did well against
“We haven’t conceded a goal in three games and that makes us very happy. It boosts our morale when we keep clean sheets. We also have quality players in attack capable of turning a score around and their minds are at easy knowing the team have a solid defense.
“Robben is in great form. He is happy and the coach has given him more freedom. Today’s game was very fast and the pace changed quickly thanks to quality players. Robben has all that, but he also depends on the entire team. The best thing is that both he and the squad as a whole are working well.”
Eliminated from the Copa del Rey, Madrid will now have only one game per week until at least the Champions League starts up again, and Mijatovic is keen to have his team take advantage of the extra rest days.
“We must now think about our next home game against Osasuna. Our only objective is to win the clash,” he cautioned.
“There are still many games left in the league and we have to make good use of the month and a half we have left before the Champions League resumes.”
