La Liga Player Ratings: Deportivo 1-3 Sevilla

Despite having only ten men, Sevilla ran out on top at El Riazor, defeating Deportivo La Coruna 3-1. Goal.com rated each player's performance.

Luis Fabiano, Sevilla-Ponferradina (Marca)
Deportivo La Coruna

Daniel Aranzubia - 6
- Not to blame for any of the goals, as he had absolutely no chance in reaching any of them. Did what he had to with composure.

Manuel Pablo - 5
- Looked solid in the first half, but ran out of legs in the second, and was punished severely.

Alberto Lopo - 6
- Was caught out for the goals, but did provide an attacking threat from set pieces, and only a brilliant save from Palop denied him a goal.

Ze Castro - 5
- Just like his fellow defenders, allowed Sevilla far too much space in the second half, considering they had one man less.

Filipe - 6
- Allowed Jesus Navas far too much space in the latter stages, but did provide a decent attacking presence.

Andres Guardado - 6
- Not the best game from the Mexican, a few good moments but too many quiet periods.

Sergio - 6
- Like most of his team, dropped off the pace in the second half to their detriment, but was also denied a spectacular goal by Palop.

Juan Rodriguez - 6
- Guilty of the same mistakes as his midfield partner, but did provide an attacking threat in the first half.

Lafita - 5
- Not a great game from the winger, and only really burst to life in the last ten minutes, when Depor were desperately chasing the game.

Joan Verdú - 6
- Provided the assist for Bodipo, but was worrying quiet for the rest of the match.

Rodolfo Bodipo - 8
- Scored a great goal and could have had more, but for a lack of support in the second period.

Subs

Omar Bravo - 4
- Brought on with a lot of time left, but failed to make any impact whatsoever.

Riki - 4
- Wasted one glorious chance, and showed why he is no longer in the starting line-up.

Juan Valerón - N/A
- Hardly any time to touch the ball.

Sevilla

Andres Palop - 8
- Was definitely at fault for the first goal, but more than redeemed himself with two brilliant saves in the second.

Jose Crespo - 5
- Didn't mark Bodipo well in the first half, and was withdrawn at half-time to make way for Kanoute.

Sebastian Squillaci - 7
- Did his job well, denied Depor much space even with the extra man.

David Prieto - 7
- A solid performance, but could have done better for Bodipo's goal.

Fernando Navarro - 5
- Bailed out by the rest of his team. Had a poor game, was constantly beaten for pace by the wingers, and was walking a red card tightrope.

Jesus Navas - 7
- Played well without bursting into life until the final minute, when he did brilliantly to set Capel up.

Enzo Maresca - 3
- What was he thinking? His moment of madness could have cost Sevilla dearly, and he has a lot of apologizing to do to his team-mates.

Koffi Romaric - 7
- Did his usual job, completely denying Depor's midfield any space.

Adriano - 8
- Was a constant threat bombing forward in the first half, and then adapted with composure to the right back role in the second.

Renato - 8
- Scored a great goal and generally gave the home team a lot to worry about up front.

Luis Fabiano - 8
- A sublime finish, and made a nuisance of himself constantly.

Subs

Frederic Kanouté - 9
- May not have scored a goal himself, but was instrumental in all three, assisting the first two and orchestrating the third.

Julien Escudé - 7
- Did his job after coming on, not giving Depor any opportunities.

Diego Capel - 8
- Came on with hardly any time left, and got a goal to seal the deal. The perfect sub.
