thumbnail Hello,

Barcelona will welcome fierce rivals Real Madrid to the Camp Nou on Saturday but little did they expect to find Juande Ramos instead of Bernd Schuster on the Blancos bench.

With just less than four days away from El Clasico, crisis-hit Real Madrid made the extremely risky decision to give Bernd Schuster the axe and appoint ex-Sevilla coach, Juande Ramos as the new trainer almost immediately.

As the aftermath of the announcement continues to grip Spain, several Barcelona stars – who will be the first batch of players in La Liga to take on the ‘new’ Madrid – have given their reaction to the news.

Seydou Keita

“Juande Ramos is a good coach and a great person and he will bring extra motivation to the [Madrid] players, although it is too soon to say what changes he will make to their team.”

Sylvinho

“I do not know him personally, but he looks to me like a good coach with an extensive résumé.

“But it will not make Saturday’s game any harder or any easier for us because it will be a very complicated match anyway.”

Albert Jorquera

“He was my coach a long time ago [in Barcelona’s B team] but from what I can remember, he is a very meticulous and highly respected person.

“He also talks to the players with a lot of respect but he was not soft. He is a very hard working man, although he will not have a lot of time to prepare for Saturday.”

Sergio Busquets

“Whatever happens at Real Madrid always affects Barcelona, too, but I believe Juande’s appointment at Madrid will neither harm us nor benefit us when we meet on Saturday.”
