Barça And Eto'o Making Move Too Expensive

The Cameroonian striker has been told that he is not part of Pep Guardiola's plans for next season, but neither he nor the Blaugrana are making his departure seem likely.

Arsenal's early interest quickly ended when Eto'o reportedly told Arsène Wenger that he wanted an incredible €10m-per-season to relocate to north London, according to Sport.

At the end of last term AC Milan made a firm enquiry and, although he had lowered his pretensions, the former Mallorca forward asked for €8.5m-per-season, more than Kaká and Ronaldinho.

Inter had already caught wind of the salary being requested and José Mourinho told the club's president, Massimo Moratti, that he did not want any Barça players to be signed.

One final club that asked were Tottenham Hotspur and while Eto'o complained about their position in the table last term, the club's hierarchy rejected him after being asked for €150,000-per-week.

Eto'o has always stated that he would not be pushed out of Camp Nou to a club he did not want to join, but all interested parties are being alienated by his stance.

Sport now believe that he could stay for at least another year with Barcelona, with Guardiola even including him as just another member of the squad for the trip to Scotland.

Despite claims in the media that Barça are desperate to off-load the player in order to fund a replacement, the fact that they are demanding such a high asking price is causing clubs to not even reach the stage of asking Eto'o what he wants.

The Blaugrana are telling would-be suitors that they will only consider bids of €30m and upwards after being stunned that Arsenal value Emmanuel Adebayor at €36m.

Milan's offer of €21m up front with €4m depending on performances was rejected when the Catalan giants stated that €25m was not enough.
