City Stun Milan With Mega Dinho Bid

Manchester City have tested AC Milan’s resolve by tabling a mega-money bid for Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho…

The Daily Mail claims that City emailed a ₤22million offer to Barca last night, casting doubt over recent reports that the Brazilian playmaker was on the verge of signing for Milan.

The 28-year-old is certain to leave Camp Nou this summer after being placed on the transfer list by new coach Josep Guardiola, alongside Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o and Portuguese star Deco.

It appeared at one point that Ronaldinho could follow the latter to Chelsea, where he would link up with former Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, but the Rossoneri have since been tagged red-hot favourites to land the ex-Gremio man.

This latest development is set to cause a stir, however, with City owner Thaksin Shinawatra prepared to pull out all the stops to secure what would be a dream signing.

The Sky Blues will offer Ronaldinho ₤10,000-per-week more than what he would receive at San Siro and will also grant him his favoured No. 10 jersey, which Diavolo veteran Clarence Seedorf would be unlikely to surrender.

The news follows reports of a breakdown in communications between Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and Ronaldinho’s agent Roberto de Assis.
