Wenger To Milan: Fax Off!

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly sent an angry fax to AC Milan, demanding that the Italian club relent in their pursuit of Emmanuel Adebayor…

According to The Sun, Milan officials were stunned when they received a facsimile message that claimed the Togolese striker was not for sale – and which was personally signed by Wenger.

The communiqué detailed the Frenchman’s insistence that his star striker would not be leaving the Emirates this summer, regardless of the sum offered.

“It was quite bizarre,” said a Rossoneri insider. “A fax arrived signed by Wenger in which he warned us against any bid for Adebayor.

“It went on to say that the player ‘is not for sale — not for money or gold’.”

This latest developments confirms Wenger’s wrath at the widespread interest in Adebayor, who scored 30 goals during 2007-08 to mark his breakthrough season.

Barcelona are also hot on the 24-year-old’s heels, and new Barca boss Josep Guardiola’s announcement that Samuel Eto’o will leave this summer has only increased speculation that the Blaugrana will bid for the ex-Monaco man.
