Spurs Joining Inter On Joaquin's Trail?

Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos could complicate Inter Milan's negotiations to sign Joaquin by trying to persuade the Valencia winger that the English Premier League would suit him better than Serie A.

Sanchez Joaquin - Valencia
Although Internazionale are the favourites to sign Spanish winger Joaquin from Valencia, Spurs are reportedly entering the race for his services.

Forber Real Betis star Joaquin endured a difficult time with Los Ches last season and a move away from Mestalla seems probable. But Inter may not have a clear pitch, with Tottenham's former Seville manager Juande Ramos understood to be hoping he can persuade Joaquin to try English football.

Ramos will tell the winger that he would be better off playing in the Premier League, with Spurs, than sampling life in the Italian League.

Valencia are clearing out as they tackle their debts. But is is being suggested that even selling their biggest star - Spain's Euro 2008 hat-trick hero David Villa - would not bring in enough to keep the accountants happy, soother players will be made available, including Joaquin.

He would probably cost Inter or Spurs some £8 million, but while the Nerazzurri  are in pole position at the moment, Tottenham are said to be optimistic that Ramos's influence can prompt a re-evaluation of all his options by Joaquin.

There is confidence at White Hart Lane that when they hold talks with Joaquin and his agent that can convince the player that his earning power and trophy prospects will be brighter in Premeir League. The final outcome will no doubt also be influenced by Jose Mourinho's salesmanship.
