Spurs boss Juande Ramos has targeted Eto’o as his next big bit of business after completing the ₤16.5 million signing of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric recently.

It is understood Barca were interested in offloading the Cameroonian only if they could get Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov in a part player-exchange.

But according to reports, all hopes of Eto’o going to White Hart Lane have been dashed as Inter have entered into the frame with a massive ₤32 million bid for the 27-year-old.

The Nerazzurri are desperate to freshen up their forward line, with veteran Argentine duo Hernan Crespo and Julio Cruz expected to leave San Siro in the summer.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is keen to capitalise on the unrest at Camp Nou following Frank Rijkaard’s dismissal, setting up the prospect of a mouth-watering partnership between Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovich.
