The 2006 World Cup-winning captain has put his weight behind the Dutchman ahead of the announcement of the Goal 50 on Monday.
The annual award ranking the top 50 players from the past season will be announced on Goal on Monday.
Robben is one of the front-runners for the prize, and his former teammate at Real Madrid, Cannavaro, believes he would be a justified winner.

"Certainly Robben deserves it," Cannavaro told Goal, "for the results he achieved with both his club and his national team in 2013-14. He's getting the recognition now that he has deserved for a long time. He is currently the best winger in the world and also one of the best wingers in the history of football."
Robben enjoyed a brilliant 2013-14 campaign, winning four trophies with Bayern and taking Netherlands to third place at the World Cup in Brazil. Between club and country, he scored 29 goals last season.
