Pep Guardiola's first Bundesliga game in charge of Bayern Munich will be at home to Borussia Monchengladbach on Aug. 9, as the German top flight released its schedule.

The former Barcelona boss' arrival at the Allianz Arena was announced back in January, and, following the Supercup clash with Borussia Dortmund on July 27 and a DFB Pokal tie with Schwarz-Weiss Rehden a week later, he will finally take on the Fohlen in his league debut.

The first of the two Bundesliga clashes between Champions League finalists Dortmund and Bayern falls on the weekend of November 22-24 at Signal Iduna Park, while the return fixture will be played out mid-April.

Elsewhere on the first day of the new season, Robin Dutt will begin his tenure at the helm of Werder Bremen away to newly promoted Braunschweig.

Hertha Berlin - the reigning 2. Bundesliga champion, which boasts German-American center back John Anthony Brooks - marks its return to the top tier by hosting last season's surprise package Eintracht Frankfurt. Another season-opening match of note to USA fans is the Hoffenheim-Nurnberg bout, which will feature U.S. internationals Fabian Johnson, Danny Williams and Timmy Chandler.

Fnally, the first of the two Ruhr derbies between Schalke and Dortmund has been scheduled for matchday 10, before bragging rights are ultimately settled 17 rounds later.
