The Dortmund and Poland winger is facing up to six weeks out after hurting his ankle, forcing him to miss major matches against Real Madrid and England.Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski admits being frustrated after picking up an injury in the Bundesliga champions' 1-1 draw with Hannover.
The 26-year-old could face six weeks out of action with the ankle knock, meaning the Dortmund star must wait before he can build on his solid start to the season. Blaszczykowski will not only be absent for his side's UEFA Champions League clash with Real Madrid, but he will also miss Poland's World Cup qualifying game against England, despite him beginning the rehabilitation of his ankle.
"I immediately felt something wrong. As an athlete, you notice this," Blaszczykowski, also known as "Kuba," said to Bild. "It's not easy, especially since I've had a good season. But I've had worse things. I will fight and try to come back quickly. This is very annoying. But it cannot be helped. The guys can do it without me!"
Blaszczykowski added that he hopes to be present at the Poland-England match to root on his countrymen.
"If it works, I'll go to Warsaw," Blaszczykowski said. "I am the captain, I want to be there and support the troops."
