Former coach Udo Lattek has stated his belief that Bayern Munich will struggle to finish ahead of Borussia Dortmund this season if the title holders manage to keep up their current form in the remainder of the 2011-12 campaign.

Bayern and BVB sit joint top in the Bundesliga table with 37 points from 18 games, and Lattek feels that the reigning champions are the favourites to win the title.

"What Dortmund are doing at the moment is top notch. They are the only Bundesliga club that is absolute top," Lattek was quoted as saying by Bild.

"Dortmund are the title favourites for me at this point. Everything is working for them, their defence, midfield and attack. Bayern Munich don't stand a chance if [head coach Jurgen] Klopp's wizards keep up this form."

The 77-year-old Lattek won six Bundesliga titles during two coaching spells at Bayern Munich, and also enjoyed two periods in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
