Bayern fans make it clear that Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is not welcome in the Bavarian capital.During Bayern Munich's DFB Pokal fixture with Schalke, Germany's first-choice goalkeeper, and long-term transfer target for the Bavarians, Manuel Neuer, found himself on the end of abuse from the home fans at the Allianz Arena, who put it in no uncertain terms that his transfer from rivals Schalke would not be welcomed.
Thousands of fans held up signs reading "KOAN NEUER" which loosely translates to "No Neuer" and whistled unrelentingly at the Schalke shot stopper.
Neuer is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and as such has attracted interest not only from Bayern, but also other top clubs such as Manchester United.
While FC Hollywood's management remain keen on signing the 24-year-old, with coach Louis van Gaal recently admitting he would be a good signing, this display of hatred from their fans may force them to re-consider. Many of the Bayern supporters believe that Thomas Kraft is a capable starter.
Bayern Munich lost the match to Schalke 1-0, being knocked out of the domestic cup tournament.
Update 23:50 CET: According to Goal.com Germany, following the match Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, apologized for the fans' actions toward Neuer on television. He said, "I cannot understand the fans' reaction. I would like to apologize to Manuel Neuer."
