Delighted with the Brazilian having made the move to HSV, coach Bruno Labbadia spoke to the club's website official site.
"Ze Roberto has shown his class at both an international and domestic level," the 43-year-old said.
"We are very pleased that he decided to sign for us.
"He is a technically outstanding player and brings a wealth of experience to the club."
The signing of Ze Roberto's new contract will see the player tied to Hamburg until the summer of 2011.
