American ace Landon Donovan is hell-bent on proving himself while on trial at Bayern Munich and has refused to rule out a more permanent stay. The 26-year-old speed demon officially arrived in Munich on loan from LA Galaxy until March 15, but in a recent interview with the 'Bild' newspaper he suggested that he is aiming to stay beyond that.
"Every day is a countdown for me. I have to offer something every day. In training, on the bus, on the plane. Everything is important. Everything! It's a unique opportunity. Maybe this is my last chance to make the breakthrough!" he boomed.
Donovan has already managed to make an impression so far, most recently scoring FCB's second goal in the 2-0 friendly win in Kaiserslautern.
"My job is to make the decision up front for the coach more difficult", he added. "I'm different than the other three strikers."
Donovan was keen to stress that he has matured as a player since his first stint in Germany between 2001 and 2005.
"I learned a lot in Leverkusen, but unfortunately I didn't take my opportunities," he reflected.
"I'm a totally different person and player now, I have matured. Now I'm ready!"
