FC Bayern Munich, with American Landon Donovan, on loan from the LA Galaxy, making his club debut, secured a 3:2 victory in Abu Dhabi against Al Jazeera Sports Club in a friendly.

Miroslav Klose ensured a win in a tightly contested match. Some 6500 spectators were present to view the contest.

The local fans were cheered when Fernando Baiano established a lead in the fourth minute for Al Jazeera. Donovan had a hand in the build-up to the first Bayern goal, when Bastian Schweinsteiger struck in the 31st minute.

When Donovan was taken down for a freekick in the second half,  Daniel van Buyten converted the dead-ball opportunity for a 2-1 lead for Bayern.

The Belgian scored once more, but in the wrong goal, as a backpass from  van Buyten went into the net for Al Jazeera.

Klose's strike in injury time saved the day for Bayern, though.

Donovan went the distance in the match, playing the entire 90 minutes.
