Going To Seed

UEFA revealed the seeds for qualifying for the 2012 Euro Championship, to be held in Poland and Ukraine. The draw will take place on February 7 next year in Warsaw. The usual favorites are in Pot 1, while Euro debutants Montenegro are in Pot 5, just above the continent's minnows.

Barcelona Barters

The triple isn't an easy feat, and Barcelona know that it takes work, and perhaps changes, to keep contending for the top titles. To that end, the club is said to be eying a number of potential moves to strengthen the squad that claimed unique glory last season.

Enke Dead At 32

German goalkeeper Robert Enke, who plays his club ball at Hannover, has tragically died at the age of 32. Early reports have speculated that the death was a suicide. Enke is survived by his wife and a recently adopted daughter. The 32-year-old was the number one 'keeper for club and country.

Top Priority

Now that Chelsea's transfer ban has been temporarily suspended, the Blues are ready to splash the cash in order to retain the English Premier League title that was last theirs in 2006. The big target was Sergio Aguero, but it appears the London club have turned their attention to Franck Ribery.

Wanted Man

Often considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Gianluigi Buffon has been the target of much transfer speculation lately, with Manchester United being the main suitor. Seemingly happy with Juventus, the World Cup winner may be tempted this coming summer.

Fear The Flu

With three players on Blackburn Rovers being confirmed H1N1 Swine Flu victims, the footballing world is taking notice. Players who spit regularly during matches are being advised against it, while Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has acknowledged the threat that his team may be under.

Movin' On Up

Bayern Munich got off to rough start to the season but things are looking up lately. On Saturday the Bavarian giants pulled off a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt to move to fifth in the table. Steve Cherundolo's Hanover side also pulled out a victory, a 1-0 shocker over Stuttgart.
