Pitch flooding suspends Roma-Parma

The Stadio Olimpico field was covered in water and, with the rain continuing to pour down, the referee ended the game 10 minutes in.
Roma's clash with Parma was suspended because torrential rain and a flooded pitch Sunday.

Neither side could fashion a chance in the opening eight minutes as the ball skidded off the water-soaked surface at the Stadio Olimpico and the referee spent the following three minutes testing whether or not it was acceptable to continue.
The Giallorossi were hoping to go three points behind Juventus, temporarily at least, with a home win on Sunday ahead of the Scudetto holder's clash with Inter.

However, the referee officially delayed the game to a later date 10 minutes after guiding the teams back into the changing rooms in Rome, meaning Roberto Donadoni's team will be back in the coming weeks to continue the game.
