Galliani reveals Milan transfer plans

The Rossoneri vice president says the club will be active in the January transfer window but insists neither Mario Balotelli or Stephen El Shaarawy will leave the San Siro.
Adriano Galliani has revealed AC Milan is looking to sign a defender and a forward as it attempts to rescue its disastrous Serie A campaign.

The San Siro giants have slumped into the bottom half of the table after winning just three of its opening 13 league fixtures, with coach Massimiliano Allegri's position under intense scrutiny.

Galliani says the Rossoneri will need to enter the transfer market in an attempt to revive their fortunes.

"We have very clear ideas about the transfer window," he told reporters ahead of Milan's Champions League clash with Celtic. "We will look to sign a defender and a wide atacker."

Yet the vice president insists the new additons will arrive to support, rather than replace, star duo Mario Balotelli and Stephen El Shaarawy.

"Balotelli will stay. I am 101 percent certain of that. He's our center forward, he's just going through one of those moments. El Shaarawy is staying as well. A well-known coach from abroad rang to ask me about his availability and I politely said no."
