thumbnail Hello,

The Roma captain led his team to an impressive victory at San Siro, prompting his coach to praise the Italian's enduring quality.

Rudi Garcia has hailed Francesco Totti as one of the game's finest after the striker put in a masterful shift to inspire Roma to a 3-0 victory against Inter on Saturday.

The 37-year-old attacker has been in scintillating form this season and put two past Samir Handanovic to maintain the Giallorossi's lead at the summit of the Serie A standings, as well as their unblemished record.

"We have a leader in attack and he showed the way," the Frenchman told reporters after the game at the Giuseppe Meazza. "Totti is one of the best players in the history of football and to see him so happy is wonderful.

Roma's perfect start to the season is in stark contrast to its form last season, when the club finished sixth and lost to Lazio in the Coppa Italia final. And though remaining cautious about his team's Scudetto prospects, Garcia was encouraged by the dominant display put in at the San Siro.

"The side has confidence, the players believe in themselves and that is very important," he continued. "I liked the collective spirit of the team, but we also played with heart when needed and played like men tonight.

"The Scudetto? It's still a long way to the end of the season."

The Olimpico outfit has now recorded seven consecutive Serie A victories and crucially sits five points clear of reigning champions Juventus, which faces AC Milan on Sunday.
