Chiellini expected out for three months with calf muscle tear

The Bianconeri may now rue the decision to terminate Lucio's contract following the news that the center back sustained a lesion and faces a lengthy spell on the treatment table
Juventus could have to make do without the services of Giorgio Chiellini for up to three months after it emerged that the defender had suffered a calf injury.

The Italy international underwent tests on Thursday to examine the severity of knock, and the 28-year-old faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"Unfortunately a lesion on my calf muscle has been confirmed. I’ll have to be out for a while ... But I'll do everything I can to return as soon as possible and stronger than ever," he wrote on Twitter.

"I thank you for the many get well soon messages I received over the last few hours. A hug to all of you."

Juve recently released Lucio on a free transfer, meaning the club might be in the market for a defender in January.
