Andrea Stramaccioni feels that the 2012-13 campaign will be crucial for Inter as it looks to rebuild its squad following a disappointing season last time out.
The Nerazzurri made several changes to their playing staff this summer after they had to settle for sixth spot in the table last term, and Stramaccioni is eager to help them become competitive again.
"This is a hugely important season for Inter. This is a key year because it's a period in which Inter are laying the foundations to once again go back to challenging both in Italy and on the continent," the young coach was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
He added, "The road will of course be difficult, and we won't shy away from that. We are building something which I believe is very important. I may be the last in but I really buy into the values of this club and this city."
Inter has collected three points from their opening two Serie A games following a win over Pescara and a loss to Roma.
