Andrea Ranocchia insists he is determined to make the most of his spell at Inter, as he intends to fulfill his contract with the club.
The 24-year-old's place in the Nerazzurri squad had been put into doubt after he failed to impress in his first complete season at the Giuseppe Meazza, fresh from leaving Genoa in a 12.5 million euro transfer in January 2011.
However, he seems to have earned a place in coach Andrea Stramaccioni's first-team plans following Lucio's exit last month, and the Italy international is eager to prove his worth and put a disappointing campaign behind him.
"[2011-12] was a difficult season but at the same time important for my growth as a player," he told Mediaset Premium.
"Now I feel ready to approach a new season. I may have had a bad year, but I am happy to have overcome it and learned from my mistakes.
"The newspapers have written a lot about me, but like I have said in the past, I have a contract with Inter until 2015 and I want to respect it.
"I am at one of the best clubs in Europe, I cannot ask for more."
